Second Chance Cheekye Ranch (SCCR) is a rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming program to save horses in troubled situations, and those bound for slaughter in North America. Over 61,000 horses were needlessly slaughtered in North America in 2014. We aim to save as many as we can from that fate.

Initially, a veterinarian carefully assesses each rescue horse’s health, before seeing the farrier. Qualified and experienced trainers then work with the rescued horses to rehabilitate and train them at Cheekye Ranch. Their training provides them with the skills necessary to make them sought-after, longterm partners to their riders and owners.
